How to upload your Brand Ready skill in Claude
If you use Claude, uploading your Brand Ready skill is the best way to give it richer access to your brand system from the start.
Once installed, Claude can use your skill when it is relevant, helping it create outputs that are more aligned to your brand colours, assets, structure, and guidelines.
Before you start
You will need:
your brand-skill.zip file
a Claude account with access to Skills
At the moment, Skills are supported in Claude, and the current setup sits inside Customize.
Step 1: Open the Skills area in Claude
In Claude:
Open Customize from the left-hand menu
Select Skills
This opens the Skills area, where you can view your personal skills and add a new one.
Step 2: Upload your Brand Ready skill
In the Skills area:
Click the + button
Choose your brand-skill.zip file
Upload it as delivered
Upload the ZIP file as-is. Do not unzip it first.
Step 3: Check that the skill is available
Once the upload is complete, your Brand Ready skill should appear in your personal skills list.
You may see the skill contents inside Claude, such as:
SKILL.md
REFERENCE.md
assets
fonts
template.docx
That means the skill is installed and ready to use.
Step 4: Start using it
Once installed, you can start using your Brand Ready skill straight away.
A simple first prompt might be:
Create a proposal using my brand skill
You can also try prompts like:
Create a one-page report using my brand skill
Draft a presentation outline using my brand skill
Create a branded document using my brand skill
Generate a concept for a one-page brochure using my brand skill
In many cases, Claude will recognise that the skill is relevant and use it automatically. If you want to be explicit, you can mention your brand skill directly in the prompt.
What to expect
A Brand Ready skill gives Claude more to work with than a normal prompt alone.
Depending on your setup, that can include:
your logo
your brand colours
template references
formatting rules
your brand guidelines, if you shared them with us during setup
Because of that, skill-based outputs can take longer than a normal chat response. That is normal. In many cases, it may take a few minutes rather than a few seconds.
If you do not see Skills in Claude
If the Skills option is not visible, the most likely reasons are:
your account does not currently have access
the feature is not enabled in your setup
you are using a Claude environment where Skills are not available in the same way
If that happens, you can still use your branded Word template as your main workflow.
