What’s in your Brand Ready toolkit
Your Brand Ready toolkit gives you two ways to create branded work: a Word template for fast day-to-day document creation, and a Brand Ready skill for deeper branded output inside AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude.
They work differently, and each is useful in a different way.
Your branded Word template with logo
This is your main working template for Word.
It includes your brand styles and your footer logo, so you can open it and start writing straight away. If you like to work interactively with AI, asking for content section by section and pasting it into a document as you go, this is usually the best place to start.
Use it when you want:
• a fast, practical way to create branded documents
• an easy copy-and-paste workflow from AI into Word
• a document that already looks branded from the start
Your branded Word template without logo
This is the same template system, but without the footer logo.
Some people prefer a cleaner version for internal documents, earlier drafts, or situations where they want a little more flexibility in the layout.
Use it when you want:
• the same brand styles without the logo treatment
• a cleaner starting point
• more flexibility for internal or less formal documents
Your Brand Ready skill
This is the part that can be uploaded into AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude.
Once installed, it gives the AI much more detailed brand context, helping it create branded outputs inside the AI app itself. That might include a Word document, a presentation structure, visual concepts, or other branded content depending on what you ask it to create.
Use it when you want:
• the AI to generate branded outputs from the start
• more detailed brand behaviour inside ChatGPT or Claude
• support across different output types, not just Word documents
If you uploaded brand guidelines as part of your intake form, those are included in the skill and can be used as reference too.
One important thing to know: skills usually take longer. Because the AI is working from a richer set of instructions and reference materials, outputs can take a few minutes rather than a few seconds. That can be completely fine if you are happy to let it work in the background, but it is a different experience from fast conversational drafting.
Your style guide
This is a reference document that shows how your Word template has been built.
It helps you understand the heading hierarchy, paragraph styles, table styling, colours, and formatting choices included in your template. You do not need to write in it. Its role is simply to help you use the template well.
Use it when you want to:
• check which heading style to use
• understand how the formatting system works
• keep your documents consistent
How the pieces work together
The simplest way to think about it is this:
• the Word template is for speed
• the skill is for depth and flexibility
If you want to work quickly, collaborate with AI in a conversational way, and build a document section by section, the Word template is usually the best starting point.
If you want ChatGPT or Claude to generate more fully branded outputs inside the AI app itself, the skill is the stronger tool.
There are also some practical differences:
• the Word template is specifically for Word documents
• the skill can support a wider range of outputs, including documents, presentations, and more
• the Word template uses a tighter document palette
• the skill can make use of more of your brand palette where those colours are defined
• the Word template is usually faster to use
• the skill usually takes longer, but can do more
Where to start
For most people, the easiest place to begin is with the Word template.
Open it, paste in some content, try a few headings, and get a feel for how your branded document system works. This is especially useful if you work in Microsoft Word or use tools like Copilot in a more conversational, copy-and-paste way.
Then, if you use ChatGPT or Claude and want deeper branded output inside those tools, upload your Brand Ready skill as the next step.
A simple order is:
1 Start with the Word template
2 Try drafting and pasting content into it
3 Use the style guide if you want to understand the formatting system
4 Upload the skill later if you want more advanced branded output inside ChatGPT or Claude
In short
Use the Word template when you want speed, simplicity, and an easy document workflow.
Use the skill when you want ChatGPT or Claude to do more of the brand work inside the AI tool itself, and you are happy for that process to take a little longer.
